Acquapendente is located in the far north of the province of Viterbo and the Lazio, wedged between Tuscany and Umbria, in one of the most picturesque landscapes of central Italy. Situated on the edge of a volcanic plateau, between tufa springs that give the town its name, Acquapendente has always been a crossroad of trade and pilgrimage routes. Walking through its streets you can discover a wealth of woody species. This guide to the most common trees and shrubs was produced in collaboration with the European Project CSMON-LIFE (LIFE13 ENV/IT/842). We offer it to all visitors, both Italian and foreign, and also to schools (from elementary to secondary schools) as a support for discovering the "World of Flowers" and its remarkable diversity.
