This guide was prepared within the project KeyToNature, in cooperation between the University of Trieste (Italy), the University of Tartu and the Estonian University of Life Sciences (Estonia), to be used in secondary schools, universities, and by anyone who is interested in the flora of Estonia. The guide includes about 140 species: all spontaneous trees and shrubs (with the exception of several species of Craetagus, Rosa and Salix which are difficult to separate) and most of the introduced species cultivated in parks and orchards. The authors are grateful to Bob Press (Natural History Museum, London) for English-editing of the key.
