Il progetto Dryades, iniziato alla fine degli anni ’90, raggruppa tutte le iniziative ed i progetti coordinati dal Dipartimento di Scienze della Vita dell’Università di Trieste nel campo della Biodiversity Informatics. Al momento Dryades è funzionale all’attività di tre progetti internazionali: Open Discovery Space, VIBRANT ed il progetto interreg SiiT (Italia-Slovenia). Il sito web di Dryades permette l'accesso a guide interattive per l'identificazione di piante funghi ed animali, ad archivi con centinaia di migliaia di immagini digitali e a diverse banche dati sulla biodiversità dell'Italia. Una sezione specifica, legata al progetto SiiT, è dedicata ai progetti per le scuole.

The project Dryades, started in the late 90's, gathers the results of all the initiatives and projects coordinated by the Department of Life Sciences of the Trieste University in the field of Biodiversity Informatics. Dryades is presently functional to the activity of the University in three international projects: Open Discovery Space, VIBRANT and the interreg project SiiT (Italy-Slovenia). The Dryades website allows access to interactive identification tool devoted to plants, fungi and animals, to archives of digital images, and to important databases on the biodiversity Italy. A specific section - related to the project SIIT - is dedicated to projects for schools.
